Connect Qontext to ChatGPT via MCP to use your context repository in ChatGPT conversations. With Qontext + ChatGPT, you can:
  • Retrieve relevant, up-to-date context when you invoke Qontext
  • Keep full governance and permissions in Qontext

Installation

Qontext is available as a plugin in ChatGPT and Codex. Install the published plugin, or connect Qontext manually over MCP.

Open the Qontext plugin

In ChatGPT on the web or in the desktop app, open Plugins, search for Qontext, and select the Qontext plugin. You can also open the Qontext plugin directly.

Install the plugin

Click Install plugin.

Connect to Qontext

If prompted, click Connect, log in to Qontext, and allow access.
From now on, ChatGPT will use your context repository to retrieve context when you invoke Qontext.

Using Qontext in ChatGPT

Once Qontext is connected, using it is simple:

Start a new chat

Open a new conversation in ChatGPT.

Invoke Qontext

Type @Qontext or Use Qontext in your message to let ChatGPT retrieve the context needed to give you the best answer.Qontext Chat GPT Prompt

Write your prompt

Add your question or task and send the message.

Get context-aware responses

ChatGPT automatically retrieves relevant context from your connected context repository to complete the task.

Troubleshooting

A few things to check:
  • Open Plugins and confirm that Qontext appears among your installed plugins or MCP connections.
  • Ensure Developer Mode is on under Settings → Security and login before creating a manual MCP connection.
  • If your workspace manages plugins or Developer Mode, ask your workspace admin to confirm access.
Install Qontext from the plugin directory instead. In a managed workspace, ask your workspace admin whether Developer Mode is available.
